Shakespeare In The Garden - A Midsummer Night's Dream
From 28 Aug 25 7:00 PM to 28 Aug 25 10:30 PM
Open Bar Theatre Company perform another Shakespeare classic in our pub gardens this summer.
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare is a comedy that weaves together multiple storylines, set in a magical forest. The play centres around four Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors, all of whom get caught up in the antics of mischievous fairies.
The main plot follows Hermia, who is in love with Lysander, but is being forced by her father to marry Demetrius, who is in love with her. The couple runs away into the forest, where they encounter the fairies Oberon and Titania, whose own relationship is filled with conflict. Meanwhile, Oberon’s servant, Puck, uses magic to try and fix the love triangle, leading to comic misunderstandings.
In addition, a group of actors, led by the comical Bottom, is preparing a play for the Duke's wedding, but their efforts also become entangled with the magical chaos in the forest.
Ultimately, all the lovers are reunited, and the play concludes with a joyful celebration of love and transformation.
Tickets are now on sale! Don't forget to book a table for lunch or dinner on the day of the performance.
